National Stakeholder Meeting on Enhancing One Health in Sierra Leone!
In 2018, the National One Health Governance Manual was developed to strengthen our capacities, structures, and preparedness against potential outbreaks of zoonotic diseases with epidemic potential. It covers critical areas such as AMR, chemical events, food safety, biosafety, and biosecurity issues. Now, it’s time for an extensive review of this groundbreaking manual!
To ensure a comprehensive and inclusive approach, stakeholders from the Human, Animal, Environment, and University sectors are gathering for a multi-sectoral and multidisciplinary review of the document. Together, we will refine and enhance our One Health strategy to tackle public health challenges more effectively.
The process kicks off with the national meeting from July 10th to 12th, 2023, at the EOC Building, Wilkinson Road. Following this, we will continue with regional engagements to ensure broader participation and representation.
We are incredibly grateful for the financial support provided by USAID through the Breakthrough ACTION and GIZ RPPP project. Their assistance enables us to carry out this vital process.
Stay tuned for more updates as we work towards a healthier Sierra Leone!
Let’s come together and shape the future of public health in our nation. Join us in this transformative journey! #OneHealthSierraLeone #PublicHealthMatters #CollaborationForChange
