NEWLY SEATED NaCOVERC CHAIRMAN INTERLOCKS WITH THE MEDIA & CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATIONS.
In conformity with the foundational principles of the establishment of the National COVID-19 Emergency Response Centre which are legality, transparency &
accountability, the Chairman of the response, Dr. Amara Jambai has on Monday, 7th February, 2022 engaged members of the fourth estate and CSOs about the set agenda of his administration.
The COVID-19 Official mouthpiece, Solomon Jamiru warmly laid out that having moved into the 22nd month of the response, the media and civil society organizations have worked in close partnership with NaCOVERC in fulfilment of thorough consultations, public scrutiny and assessment.
Dr. Jambai, in his unveiling speech to the audience hopes for continued support
from these stakeholders with keen emphasis on accurate information dissemination, advocacy in achieving mass compliance and education.
Establishment of a Public Health Agency, overwhelming vaccination statistics, medicalization of the response (operational research) and significant trimming down of NaCOVERC constitute the central aim and objectives under his new leadership. However, the Chairman lauded the existing team and said they have, during the course of the response acquired so much knowledge and he looks forward to strengthening team participation in the dispensation of roles and responsibilities.
