The implementation of the Community-Led Action (CLA) approach in Sierra Leone.

“I am immensely grateful for Through the collaboration between the Ministry of Health and Sanitation, UNICEF, and our dedicated community members, we have witnessed remarkable improvements in our vaccine delivery efforts. Sierra Leone has, as of today (12/07/2023), fully vaccinated 93.6% of its eligible population (12 years and older). CLA has empowered communities to take charge of their health, leading to increased vaccination coverage and better health outcomes. The active participation of community members in decision-making processes and the involvement of traditional healers have been instrumental in fostering trust and acceptance. I extend my heartfelt appreciation to all community members, DHMT authorities, vaccine team members, Community Health Workers, local authorities, UNICEF, USAID, and our partners at GOAL Sierra Leone and Rest Less Development. Together, we are building a healthier and more resilient Sierra Leone. Thank you for your tireless efforts in implementing CLA and transforming our vaccine delivery system.”
