The purpose of the 3-day workshop is part of a preparedness plan to prevent and respond to future viral hemorrhagic fevers (Lassa fever and EVD), as well as to have revised and harmonized/consistent messages and Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials on Lassa fever and EVD.
The workshop attracted participants from the Ministry of Health and Sanitation, Ministry of Agriculture, Environment Protection Agency (EPA), the Councils, Inter Religious Council, Local Authorities, Market Women Association, Goal SL, and Spill Over.

This review came at a time when there were threats of Lassa fever in Bo, Tonkolili, and Koinadugu, including the Ebola virus.
