NaCOVERC takes to the streets on the third wave Delta variant of COVID-19
The National COVID-19 Emergency Response Center (NaCOVERC) with support from Africell Sierra Leone commenced an eight-day hospital roadshow targeting key government hospitals in Freetown. The roadshow began in Lumley government referral down to lumley community, PCMH hospital (cottage), including Fourah Bay road, Rokupa government hospital, 34 Military hospital and Wilberforce community, Macaulay street hospital and model junction, Connaught hospital, King Harman road hospital, and Youyi building in Brookfields.
The roadshow aims to raise awareness about the presence of the highly infectious COVID-19 Delta variant in Sierra Leone, spreading in the west end area. Using audio visual truck and megaphones, NaCOVERC community mobilizers and Risk Communication experts encouraged people to take the Covid-19 vaccines whiles donating face masks and holding prevention talks with commuters, shop owners and pedestrians.
