COVID-19 VACCINE REVIEW MEETING in Bombali District 🇸🇱

In a bid to enhance COVID-19 vaccination uptake in Sierra Leone, the Ministry of Health and Sanitation & NaCOVERC together with it Health Partners has on Tuesday 21st September started a three days high level technical vaccine review meeting at the Wusum Hotel, Makeni.
Honorable Dr. Alpha Kanu representing the Chairman of NaCOVERC gave the keynote address and officially launched the COVID-19 vaccine review meeting.

The National COVID-19 Spokesperson – NaCOVERC, Solomon Jamiru Esq. chaired the opening ceremony.

Participants in attendance include the DMOs, District Coordinators – DiCOVERC, M&E Officers, DOO, Strategic Adviser for COVID-19 PIRCSM Pillar, Pillar Leads of NaCOVERC ,senior officers of the MoHS and health partners.

The purpose of the meeting is to review successes, challenges and recommendations of COVID-19 vaccination in Sierra Leone to date including recent surge and planning the way forward.

EPI vaccine presentation was made by Dr. Tom Sesay – EPI Programme Manager, the COVID-19 Epidemiological presentation by Dr. James Squire – National Surveillance Disease Programme Manager, DHSE and Public Information, Risk Communication and Social Mobilization presentation by Harold Thomas – National Risk Communication Lead and Programme Manager – Health Education Programme, MoHS
